Social Media Tinkerer. Improvisor. Educator. Redhead.
My goal is to help small businesses integrate and manage social medial to help them connect with potential customers and keep current ones up to date.
I continue to improve the quality and exposure of The N Crowd. We are among the best improv troupes in the city and probably the best kept secret in Philadelphia.
Assisting with the development of a social media presence for businesses using Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, and other social media services. Providing either onsite training or full time managing these services.
Currently I handle day to day operations of the company. This includes fielding customer service calls, handle book keeping, updating our website, supervise artistic and production needs, and make major purchases. I also performing artistically with the troupe nearly every week.
I fill in for teachers when they are sick, on vacation, or must attend building meetings. I take the lesson plans they leave for me and execute them to the best of my ability. My day involves assessing whether students understand the material, managing my time so I can complete my lessons, and solving any conflicts between students.
Social media has been an interest to me as soon as I heard the phrase. Having remembered chat rooms on dial-up modems in AOL software that came in the mail, I’m amazed even today how far things have progressed. As you may have noticed, I like to consider myself a social media tinkerer. To my friends, I may be more of an expert, but that is somewhat subjective. I just have more experience and actively hunt down more things to play with on my phone and iPad.
The three biggest services I use regularly are Facebook, Foursquare, and Twitter. I have also played with Gowalla (Before they got bought by Facebook), Whrrl (Before it shut down), Shopkick, WeReward, and other new social media startups. I usually find these startups in the various tech news websites I read from everyday, such as Mashable or Techcrunch. I have a lot of experience using Yelp, Google Places, and finding other areas to post information about coming events.
I am a big fan of collaboration and use Google Docs extensively throughout my day to keep things organized with other people. The phrase “Two heads are better than one” is one that I believe to be very true. (So is, “Too many cooks in the kitchen.”) I am always on the lookout for new ways to keep things organized not only in my life, but also in The N Crowd.
If you would like to incorporate social media into your website or business, contact me. I can take my years of experience and use it to increase your presence in this area. Together we can create a strategy for you and your business.
